“Research update: A team led by Beth Weaver, PhD, associate professor of cell and regenerative biology, has published a study in Science Translational Medicine that elucidates how a commonly-used cancer drug called paclitaxel works in some patients with breast cancer. Though often used as a cancer treatment, paclitaxel is not effective for all patients. Prior to this study the mechanism by which it works had been unclear.
